1 5,000 American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles will be awarded to the primary cardholder only after the first card purchase made on the new card account within 90 days of opening the account. Please allow four to six weeks after your transaction appears on your credit card statement for the AAdvantage® bonus miles to be posted to your American Airlines AAdvantage® account. This one-time bonus offer is valid only for first-time MBNA / AAdvantage® credit card account holders. Previous and existing MBNA / AAdvantage® credit card account holders are not eligible. Offer may be changed, withdrawn, or extended at any time and cannot be combined with any other offer. Card purchases do not include balance transfers, money transfers or cash advances.

AAdvantage® members must have mileage earning or redeeming activity once every 18 months in order to retain their miles. If your account has no qualifying activity in any 18-month period, all miles in the account will expire. Each qualifying activity extends the expiration date of all unexpired mileage credit in your account for 18 months from the date of the qualifying activity. Qualifying activity is defined as redeeming any AAdvantage® award or accruing mileage credit on any eligible American, American Eagle®, American Connection® or AAdvantage® airline participant as well as accruing mileage credit with participating hotels, car rental companies, credit cards, telecommunication providers and other service providers offering AAdvantage® mileage credit.

3 Every £1 you spend on the MBNA / AAdvantage® Credit Cards earns you AAdvantage® miles. American Airlines AAdvantage® miles are only earned on card purchases and not on any other type of transaction. Cash advances, money transfers, and balances you transfer to MBNA Limited do not earn AAdvantage® miles. Cash substitute transactions (such as non-sterling currency), casino and gambling-type transactions, finance charges, default charges, interest, payment protection insurance premiums and fees (including non-sterling transaction fees and card fees) do not earn AAdvantage® miles (unless we inform you otherwise). We may withhold or withdraw AAdvantage® miles accrued or earned on card purchases made whilst your account balance is in credit. You will earn 1.5 AAdvantage® miles for every £1 you spend on the AAdvantage® miles American Express Credit Card and 1.5 AAdvantage® miles for every £2 you spend on the AAdvantage® Visa Credit Card. Miles are earned for each whole pound spent on each card purchase on your card. The number of AAdvantage® miles earned each month from credit card spend will be displayed on your monthly credit card statement, and will then be added to your AAdvantage® account within 30 days of the statement date. Please note, it is not possible to allocate AAdvantage® miles to your account before they have appeared on your statement. Where a refund is made on your card, your AAdvantage® miles total will be adjusted accordingly. If your AAdvantage® Credit Card Account is closed before the production of your next statement, then any miles you have earned during the current statement period will be lost. AAdvantage® miles can be suspended or cancelled if you do not keep your account in good standing. If you are already an AAdvantage® member it is your responsibility to enter your existing number on this application. Failure to do so will result in automatic duplicate enrolment into AAdvantage®. Please note the AAdvantage®membership number you give us must be for an AAdvantage® account in your name. If you have any additional card members on your card account, any AAdvantage® miles they earn by spending on their cards will also be credited to your AAdvantage®account. Your personal information will be processed by AAdvantage® so they can enrol you in the AAdvantage® programme and to calculate and apply the amount of any rewards you earn.
