You can still activate your MBNA credit card online. You’ll have the option to register for Online Card Services at the same time, which we’d recommend... it’ll give you access to our full range of services and benefits, including the MBNA app, paperless statements and the ability to set up or manage a Direct Debit payment.

Already registered for Online Card Services?

Activating your new MBNA credit card is even easier for you... just log in to get started. If you’ve forgotten your login details, or you’ve entered them incorrectly, you can reset your login details online too.

Amongst other things, you can also activate credit cards using the MBNA Card Services App (but you’ll still need to be registered for Online Card Services first).

Contactless and mobile payments

Once it’s been activated, you’ll need to make one Chip and PIN transaction with your new card before you can start using contactless (it’s just a security thing). You can also add your card details to compatible mobile devices, ready to make payments on the go.

Planning to go abroad?

You don’t need to tell us when you’re travelling outside the UK, but if you’re taking your MBNA credit card with you, there are a few things you might like to know.

Balance and money transfers

Once you’re registered and online, you’ll be able to see promotional offers and request balance and money transfers.

Just bear in mind, transfer fees might apply. Transferring other debts to your MBNA credit card and paying only the minimum amount due each month may lower your overall monthly debt repayments, but it may take you longer and cost you more to repay what you owe.

You cannot transfer balances between MBNA accounts.

Lost or stolen credit card?

If your card is lost or stolen, please let us know as soon as possible by calling 0800 056 0081 (or +44 1244 757229 from outside the UK). That way, we can take steps to secure your account and get a replacement out to you.

Also useful to know

Only the main cardholder can activate cards, including those issued for additional cardholders.

You don’t need to activate replacement cards - if there’s no sticker on the front, there’s nothing you need to do.

If you want to change the PIN you’ve been issued, you can do this at most cashpoints. Just follow the on-screen instructions.

If you've forgotten your PIN, you can get an instant reminder in the MBNA app.
