What do you know about MBNA?
Whether it’s credit cards, loans or home insurance, we’re here to make financial choices easier.
A little more about us.
(including the origins of the name ‘MBNA’).
Choices made simple
We’re here to help make financial choices easier. And because we love simplifying choices so much, we’ve decided to introduce loans and home insurance alongside our credit cards.
We love a bit of technology too. This has helped us make sure you can manage your credit cards easily, from payments and transfers, to signing up to our products. Our Clever Check eligibility tool lets you see which credit cards you can apply for, your estimated credit limit and the likelihood of being accepted. All without affecting your credit rating. Nice.

Thanks to our customers
We’ve won many industry accolades over the years and it’s great to be recognised by our peers, but there’s a big award that’s voted for by our customers. That one feels pretty special to us.
We’re super-proud to have been voted Moneyfacts Consumer Credit Card Provider of the Year six consecutive times... 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.
Supporting the local community

Chester Football Club
We’ve been principal sponsor of fan-owned Chester FC since 2010.

MBNA Chester Marathon
Each year, runners challenge themselves and raise over £500k for charity.

Chester Pride
An annual event where our colourful community comes together in celebration.

Chester Zoo
For over 15 years, we’ve sponsored this world renowned zoo.
Storyhouse
We’re also the principal sponsor of Storyhouse, a home for culture in Chester. They house an impressive theatre, cinema, library and eateries.
They opened in 2014 after 4 years of careful development. Now the community not only has somewhere to meet, but also be entertained. All in the heart of historic Chester.

Helping you get a fair deal
We want you to find a credit card that's right for your circumstances. That’s why we adhere to the Standards of Lending Practice, which are monitored and enforced by the Lending Standards Board.
To find out more, you can read the statement of responsibilities (PDF, 276KB), which details what's expected of us, the lender and you, the borrower.
