Ways to pay your credit card
Regular payments
If you want control of your payments, a Direct Debit collects payments automatically from your selected bank or building society account when they’re due - Giving you have one less thing to remember!

How to set up a Direct Debit
You can set up a Direct Debit to make automatic credit card payments each month, either for:
- A set monthly amount.
- The minimum payment.
- The full balance.
- A fixed percentage.
It's nice and simple to set up a Direct Debit using Online Card Services. To get started, log in or register and then follow these steps:
- Select Pay credit card from the menu next to the card you want to pay.
- Select Regular Payments from the Ways to Pay options.
- Select set up regular payments.
- Enter your bank or building society sort code and account number.
- Select the amount you wish to pay ever month then continue.
- Check the details are correct, enter your Online Card Services password and confirm.
- That's it, your Direct Debit will be set up and you will you be told when the first payment will be taken!
Other ways to set up a Direct DebitThe quickest way to set up a Direct Debit is through Online Card Services. However, if you prefer to speak to an adviser, you can call us on 03456 062 062. Lines are open Mon-Fri 8am-10pm, or Sat-Sun 8am-6pm.
You’ll need your 16-digit credit card number when calling us.
One off payments
If you’d like to be in full control, or make additional payments on top of your Direct Debit, you’ve got a few options.
Just make sure at least the minimum amount is covered each month and that the payment method used will get your payment to us before the due date.
You can make additional payments at any point to reduce your balance and any interest costs.
Bear in mind: If you make additional payments to your account during the month we may still collect your Direct Debit in full.

There are three ways to pay your MBNA credit card from a bank or building society.
- Pay using our app
- Transfer the money using your bank's online service.
- Pay online using your debit card.
Pay from a bank or building society account
Pay using our app
This service isn’t possible with all banks and building societies yet, but more will be added as time goes on.
- Using the MBNA Card Services app simply log in, then select ‘Pay & transfer’.
- Choose pay from another bank or building society account.
- Enter the amount you’d like to pay.
- From the list, select the bank you have an account with and want to pay from.
- We’ll briefly hand you over to their website or app to approve the payment.

Transfer the money using your bank's online service
You can make a payment from your bank account in the same way you’d pay a bill or person. You’ll need these details:
Account number – 0000 0000
Sort code – 77-29-00
Reference – your 16-digit credit card numberPay online with a debit card

Pay by phone
The quickest way to pay your credit card is using our app or Online Card Services. However, if you prefer to speak to an adviser, you can call us on 03456 062 062. Lines are open Mon-Fri 8am-10pm, or Sat-Sun 8am-6pm.

Pay by cheque
You can send a cheque to us by post, but please don’t send cash in case it gets lost.
Make your cheque out to MBNA, remembering to write your name and credit card number on the back. Once it’s complete, send your cheque to:

Allow at least 7 working days for delivery and for your payment to reach your account.Important to know – we don’t accept cheques for dates in the future (post-dated). These are usually returned, which could result in missed payments and additional fees.

If you have a UK bank account or debit card, you should still be able to make payment online or by phone from outside the UK. Check the sections above for details.
If not, most overseas banks should be able to arrange a BIC or SWIFT payment to us. Processing times can vary, so check with the overseas bank when you request your payment.
