MBNA takes top honours at the 2015 Card and Payments Awards

MBNA has collected two awards and been highly commended at this year’s Card and Payments Awards.

The Chester-based financial services company scooped the awards for Best Technology Initiative of the Year and Best Marketing Campaign of the Year, and was Highly Commended for Treating Customers Fairly.

The Card and Payments Awards are open to financial services companies in the UK and Ireland, and are considered some of the industry’s most coveted accolades.

Ian O’Doherty, Chief Executive of MBNA, said: “Following our award for Credit Card Provider of the Year 2015 at the Consumer Moneyfacts Awards, these awards are further recognition of everything we’re doing at MBNA to make life easier for our customers.

“We are particularly delighted to be recognised for our digital innovation. In this case, providing real-time alerts to customers to prevent potential fraud on their account; something we know our customers really value.

“Recognition of the work of our dedicated team supporting vulnerable customers is also very welcome. Their work with a number of external organisations such as Samaritans, Alzheimer’s UK and Macmillan has proved invaluable.

“Industry awards like this – especially considering the strength of the competition this year – confirms that we are demonstrating best practice in the sector by putting our customers at the centre of all we do.”

The awards ceremony took place in London at the Grosvenor House Hotel on 5 February. For a full list of winners, visit www.cardandpaymentsawards.com
