Direct Debit payments

If you want control of your payments, a Direct Debit collects payments automatically from your bank or building society account when they’re due.

You can set up a Direct Debit to make automatic credit card payments each month, either for:

  1.  Just the minimum - We'll take the minimum payment due.

  2.  The full statement balance - We'll take the outstanding account balance when your statement was produced.

  3.  Fixed percentage - You pay a fixed percentage of your balance each month. This can be anything from 2.5% to 99%. We’ll collect at least the minimum payment each month, even if your fixed percentage amount falls below this.

  4.  An amount set by you - If this set amount is less than the minimum payment due, we'll take the minimum payment.

It’s nice and simple to set up a Direct Debit using Online Services on a desktop computer or laptop. At the moment, you can’t set up or amend a Direct Debit in our app or on a mobile browser.

    Things to keep in mind

    • If you pay late or miss a payment, you may have to pay fees, lose any promotional offers you have, and it could damage your credit score.
    • To help you manage your credit card, we might make changes to your payment amount.
    • If your payment doesn’t cover the minimum payment, we may increase it. We may also increase it if you have any missed payments.
    • Any extra payments won’t usually reduce your Direct Debit amount. We may reduce your payment if it's too high and your account is going into credit.
    • If a Direct Debit isn’t taken for 37 months, it will become dormant. If this happens, you’ll need to set up a new one.
    • You can change or cancel your Direct Debit at any time.

One off payments

If you want full control or to make extra payments on top of your Direct Debit, you’ve got a few options.

You need to pay at least the minimum payment each month. Please also check your selected payment method will reach us before the due date.

You can make extra payments at any point to reduce your balance and any interest costs.

Keep in mind: If you make additional payments to your account during the month we may still collect your Direct Debit in full. You may also need to pay off any residual interest.
