If you’ve got an Android phone, there’s really exciting news as, from today (18 May 2016), you can now make payments a new way with MBNA and Android PayTM.
All you need to do to pay for purchases in shops with your smartphone is to download the Android Pay app and add your MBNA card. You can use it wherever contactless payments are accepted and where you see the Android Pay symbol. And if you like shopping online, some apps will take Android Pay too. It’s clever stuff.
Sounds good doesn’t it? To get started, check your phone settings, and as long as it runs the KitKat 4.4 operating system or higher, you’re all set to start using Android Pay. Make sure its Near Field Communication (NFC) is switched on too. Oh, and remember to have your MBNA card handy.
Simple and safe
It’s simple to use once installed. Just unlock your phone, hold it near the contactless reader and wait for the satisfying beep. Grab your receipt so you can keep track of your spends. It’s safe too as your genuine card details aren’t held anywhere and you get the same great fraud protection as you do when you use your card normally.
