CPP – Vote on compensation scheme
Published on 18th July 2014
MBNA has been working with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and Card Protection Plan Limited (CPP) to develop a ‘Scheme of Arrangement’ that will review and compensate anyone who may have been mis-sold a CPP-provided Card Protection and/or Identity Protection policy purchased or renewed on or after 14 January 2005.
The scheme came into effect in February 2014 after the UK High Court approved documentation was filed with Companies House. As a result, all eligible policyholders are now bound to the scheme and will have already been sent a claim form.
- If eligible to claim, policyholders must complete their claim form and return it to CPP before 30th August 2014.
- If policyholders think they have a card and/or identity protection policy from CPP and they have not yet received the claim form, they should contact CPP on 0800 083 4393 (outside the UK dial +44 1144 520 800).
Please rest assured, MBNA will continue to work to achieve the best possible outcome for any impacted policyholders and continues to work through all the requirements of the scheme with the FCA, CPP and its other business partners.
